More and more classrooms are focusing on STEM education, a multifaceted approach to learning that combines science, technology, engineering, and math to develop a child's problem solving and critical thinking.

When I was in school, all four of those areas of my education were terrifying. Science was boring, math seemed pointless, technology was scary, and engineering wasn't even something I'd want to think about.

However, STEM education is a great way for children to get introduced into these areas in a not-so-terrifying way, helping to also strengthen their creativity, communication, and teamwork skills.

Conducting science experiments -- both in school and at home -- is a great way to really build up the excitement around not just science, but all facets of STEM education.

Here are 7 fun science experiments you can do at home with your kids to help them love science!

  1. Static Electricity Butterfly Experiment
  2. DIY Lava Lamp
  3. Grow Your Own Crystals
  4. Frozen Bubbles
  5. Invisible Ink
  6. Fireworks In A Jar
  7. Snow Volcano
